sharonAs we head into another school year in the Clear Creek Independent School District, some students will be welcomed back on August 21 by new leaders at their campuses. David Williams, the longtime principal of Seabrook Intermediate in Clear Creek ISD, announced his retirement after more than two decades at the school. In June, the district named Sharon Lopez as the school’s new principal.

Lopez brings more than 11 years of leadership experience to Seabrook with serving previously as an assistant principal of Pearland High School for three years and an assistant and associate principal at Clear Brook High School for the past eight years.

“Learning is my passion, and I anticipate sharing in that passion with the Seabrook Intermediate community as we learn and grow together,” said Lopez. “I am truly honored and excited to begin serving the Seabrook community and collaborating to continue the Seabrook success!”

Principal Williams was instrumental in developing the Science Magnet Program at Seabrook Intermediate in 1993, which has since provided students with a unique science curriculum and additional science electives and opportunities. Lopez looks forward to continuing this legacy through building on this enhanced curriculum while also teaching students to be life-long learners, innovative problem-solvers and responsible citizens.

Sheridan Henley, currently the dean of instruction at Clear Brook High School, will take over for Lopez as the school’s new associate principal.
