Senior to SeniorIt was a night to remember under the Big Top on April 19 as the class of 2018 hosted local senior citizens for the 9th Annual Senior to Senior Prom. A cherished District tradition, the Senior to Senior Prom is an opportunity for graduating seniors representing every high school in CCISD to show appreciation to this very important segment of the community for their support throughout their K-12 journey.

Clear Creek High School students Karime Sandoval and Ronald Valencia served as Masters of Ceremonies, or Ringmasters, for the evening. Clear Creek ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Greg Smith welcomed the honored guests. “We are all big fans of this special event because it brings together seniors of two different generations to celebrate each other,” he said. “The young adults you see here tonight not only completed their academic requirements but they have shown great character and leadership along the way. This is our way of saying thank you for any role you had in their experiences and success while they were with us.”

As special entertainment during dinner, guests were treated to the sounds of the Clear Falls High School Troubadours, under the direction of Jill Fetty. Clear Lake High School recent alumnus Ethan Swindull, also known as DJ Altruist, played crowd-pleasing, line-dancing music throughout the evening.

CCISD Gold Card holders, community members who live within the district boundaries and are 60 years old or older, are invited to the annual dinner and dance. This year’s theme was a vintage circus motif complete with carnival games. The class of 2018 from Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Horizons, Clear Lake, Clear Springs and Clear View high schools helped decorate, serve dinner and even joined their special guests out on the dance floor.

“Being given the opportunity to interact with others out of my age group made me appreciate the importance of being involved in my community,” said Justin Vo, Clear Horizons Early College High School senior.

Guests James Ponder and Marilyn Crump were crowned the 2018 Prom Queen and King.

The Senior to Senior Prom is made possible through the generous support of the following community sponsors:
