Jordan DedicationFamily, friends, past co-workers and students gathered for the unveiling of the new Ruben C. Jordan Spring Sports Facility at Clear Creek High School. This was the building where Jordan built his legacy as a coach and mentor during his nearly 30 years at the school before tragically losing his life during the flooding of Hurricane Harvey.

The special dedication ceremony was held during a track meet, now to be known as the Ruben C. Jordan Classic, which was an event that the longtime track and field coach took a lot of pride in hosting each year before retiring in 2016. CCISD Superintendent Dr. Greg Smith, Athletic Director Debbie Fuchs, Clear Creek High School Principal Jamey Majewski and Jordan’s son Roger shared stories about him from years past and spoke to the undeniable impact he had on everyone he came in contact with.

The sports building will now serves as an everlasting tribute to a beloved hero our community will never forget.
