Teachers of the YearTwo Clear Creek ISD teachers are in the running to be named as top educators in the region.

Lisa Prekosovich from Falcon Pass Elementary and Andrea Newby from Bayside Intermediate were selected as the elementary and secondary finalists in Region 4’s Teachers of the Year program. They are amongst the top five nominees chosen in each category for serving and modeling instruction excellence.

“We are proud to have both of these exceptional educators represent Clear Creek ISD at the regional level,” said Superintendent Dr. Eric Williams. “They reflect the hard work and heart of all CCISD teachers, especially in this most challenging year.”

As a second-grade teacher, Prekosovich incorporates character education into her classroom by encouraging intentional discussions with her students and building awareness of the needs of others. She has been with CCISD for 24 years. Newby, who has been with the district the past three years, is an advocate for immersive, hands-on learning experiences and created a marine science elective for students in eighth grade.

The two regional winners will be announced on August 16, 2021. The sole finalists for each category will move on to the Texas Teacher of the Year selection process facilitated by the Texas Association of School Administrators.
