Four of the largest bond projects in Clear Creek ISD are at varying stages of completion, but all of them are beginning to turn heads in the community. The erection of all major structural steel for phase one of the Clear Lake High School rebuild gives passersby a good idea of how the finished facade will look.
An abundance of glass and a futuristic grand entrance are just a few aesthetic highlights of the major rebuild of Clear Lake High School. The project connects the existing Krueger Field House to the main campus, moves the main entrance to the corner of Bay Area Boulevard and Krueger Way, and includes an S-like main corridor to existing science labs and a two story comprehensive high school.
The new McWhirter Elementary School is situated at the corner of South Walnut and West NASA Parkway in Webster. The power is about to be turned on in the rebuild that is designed to group classrooms by grade level with common learning areas where students can collaborate and share their work with the school community. The design also allows for plenty of natural light and includes the Learning Resource Center which will provide current technology to support CCISD’s dedication to learning in a changing world. The new McWhirter campus is expected to be complete in December 2015.
CCISD Challenger Columbia Stadium is changing the landscape on West NASA Boulevard. The field has been installed, the track and parking lots are poured and the bleachers are almost complete. The field house is also nearing completion and the construction of the press box and visitor side buildings are well underway.
At Clear Brook High School in Friendswood the new grand canopy is taking shape along with the administration addition at the campus. The Career and Technical Education addition is also well underway and the athletic locker room addition has begun. Crews are also in the process of renovating the auditorium and building the new fly-loft for the stage.\
