During the Region 4 Teachers of the Year Dinner and Awards Ceremony, held August 5, 2015, Clear Falls High School math teacher Anthony Tran was selected as the Secondary Teacher of the Year. He now advances as Region 4’s candidate as finalist for the 2016 Texas Teacher of the Year honor.
The Clear Falls High School math teacher came to this country at 14-years old unable to speak English. He now teaches AP calculus, college prep math and geometry. Tran sees all his students as “gifted” and deserving of a quality, equal education. “I believe academic success can only happen when students experience personal and emotional success,” explains Anthony Tran. In May, he was selected as the CCISD Secondary Teacher of the Year at the annual Rotary Teacher of the Year Luncheon.
The Texas Teacher of the Year program is sponsored by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). Visit the TASA website for more information about the Texas Teacher of the Year program.
