Football fans and families alike should consider adding Clear Creek ISD Veterans Memorial Stadium to their list of weekend destinations for entertainment, fun food and competition. Kicking off on Thursday, August 27, the Clear Creek Independent School District will host 26 games in Veterans Memorial welcoming new teams to the turf as well as long-held rivalries.
Fans can look forward to some fabulous football fare at the stadium concession stands. A selection of new items ranging from a pulled BBQ pork sandwich to a chicken Caesar salad will be offered to hungry fans. Three special selections will be chosen for every game in an effort to offer a varied menu each week. Chicken fried steak sandwiches, hamburgers, stuffed baked potatoes and chicken sandwiches or wraps are also among the new menu items. The die-hard concession connoisseur will still be able to order a hot dog, nachos, popcorn or a bag of peanuts.
Be prepared to be “wowed” by the multi-talented CCISD visual and performing arts students who have been preparing much of the summer to deliver memorable half time performances for fans this season. Award-winning bands, cheerleaders, choir students, precision dance teams and ROTC students round out the perfect football experience at Veterans Memorial Stadium in League City.
During the October 23 Springs vs. Creek game, CCISD plans to pay tribute to the District’s long-time Athletic Director, Bill Daws, who retired in August. Under the final Friday night lights of the regular season, November 6, the District will host a special Salute to Military Service and offer free admission for all active military and veterans, and a guest, with valid military I.D.
The 2015 schedule includes a strong pre-season line up against great neighboring teams including state-ranked North Shore and perennial football programs from Deer Park, Port Neches Groves and Nederland, to name a few. District play kicks off on Thursday, September 24 when the Wolverines host the Wildcats. Other great matchups to look out for are the October 23 Clear Springs vs. Clear Creek battle for 518 and the traditional rivalry between Clear Creek and Clear Lake which will conclude regular season play on Friday, November 6.
