2016 Auto Tech Signing Ceremony

Six CCISD juniors in the Automotive Technology Program at Clear Springs High School officially signed their 2016 summer internship contracts with five local dealerships during the 5th annual Signing Ceremony.
Through the Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) partnership between CCISD and the dealerships, the students will complete 320 hours this summer shadowing a mentor and getting the experience needed to become workforce ready after high school. If they are successful during the summer, there is also the potential for the students to extend their internship contracts throughout their senior year.
"The current support of our mentors, dealerships and staff in CCISD makes this beneficial program possible," said Mike Hedger, automotive technology instructor. "The knowledge and experience available to the students through these partnerships will be very valuable as they transition into their careers after high school."
Seven seniors who just completed their year-long internships were also in attendance to thank their mentors and give their advice to the newly-hired students. The award for the Outstanding Automotive Technology Student for the 2015-16 school year was presented to Phillip Weilacher for his hard work and dedication to the program.
