SHREKThe Clear Creek Independent School District is pleased to announce that Clear Springs High School’s production of Shrek The Musical earned 2018 Tommy Tune Award nominations.

Under the direction of Mark Stonebarger and Rozanne Curtis, the school was nominated in the categories of Best Choreography and Best Featured Performer, which recognized senior William Byrne for his portrayal as Pinocchio in the musical.

“It is, of course, always an honor to be recognized by the Tommy Tune Awards program,” said Clear Springs Theatre Assistant Director Rozanne Curtis. “Shrek set an all-time attendance record for Clear Springs, which is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of the students.” Curtis, who was also the choreographer for the musical, added that the students and theatre department appreciate the support of the Clear Springs and CCISD community.

The Tommy Tune competition is sponsored by Theatre Under the Stars. The award program recognizes excellence in musical theatre for the greater Houston Area. The 16th annual Tommy Tune Awards Ceremony will be held at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts in Houston on April 17, 2018.
