Safely Reopen CCISD Committee

Safety Protocol

The Coronavirus Outbreak has disrupted the lives of millions across the world. In response to the pandemic, educational institutions locally and abroad have ceased in person instruction. For the Clear Creek Independent School District, schools and facilities have been closed since March 6, 2020 and distance learning for the current school year ends May 28, 2020.

The Safely Reopen CCISD Committee has been formed to develop a set of recommendations that reflect the best, sound medical advice; practicable changes to normal district operations in order to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 spread to students and adults; and identify resources required in the event blended learning or distance learning is required due to a continued outbreak.  The final recommendations to the CCISD Board of Trustees shall reflect CCISD’s Mission, Core Values, and the feedback from the public.

The Safely Reopen CCISD Committee is comprised of medical professionals, county and local authorities, faith leaders, parents and CCISD staff. The Safely Reopen CCISD Committee is a derivative of the CCISD School Safety Committee, which was formed in 2018, following the Santa Fe High School Shooting. Membership has evolved to account for this current crisis.

The Committee’s work will be guided by Governor Abbott’s Reopen Texas Plan and the Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for Schools.
