Substitute Positions

We will begin accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year June 20, 2016.

CCISD Substitute Process:
  • All applicants must complete one (1) online substitute application for all substitute positions.

  • Teacher substitute applicants: Your application and references will be reviewed, and if selected, you will be scheduled to interview. If recommended by the interview committee, you will be required to attend a New Substitute Orientation.

  • Paraprofessional substitute applicants: Your application and references will be reviewed, and if selected, you will be required to attend a New Substitute Orientation.

  • CCISD Retirees: Complete an online application then call the Substitute Office @ 281-284-0155 for additional instructions. 

Application Steps:

  • Please complete the online application including the email addresses requested. At least three (3) valid references are required for the application process.

    - One (1) reference must be from a previous or current supervisor.

    - References do not need to be school district related; general work related references are acceptable.

  • Completed application with three references must be on file prior to the interview and/or orientation.

  • Applications and references will remain active for one year.

  • The Substitute Office will review your application and references.

  • Ten (10) days prior to orientation or interview, you will receive an email confirming the date, time, and location of your interview/orientation as well as what you will be required to bring with you. Please check your email and be sure to RSVP.

  • After attending orientation, substitutes will be fingerprinted and must pass the background check.

  • All Substitutes are required to bring an Official High School or College Transcript to Orientation; certified teachers must also provide a copy of their Teaching Certificate.

General Qualifications:
All substitutes must be fluent in English (written and spoken). Job descriptions are listed on pages 36-39 of the substitute handbook.       

Transcripts:

  • Teacher Positions: Official college transcripts must confirm at least 30 semester hours (If transcripts are from a country other than the U.S., those transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited evaluation company before an application is complete.) We do not accept faxed copies of transcripts or transcripts printed from a college website.

  • Paraprofessional Positions: Official high school transcripts must show either completion of high school or GED.

  • Proof of Right to Work in the United States: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Criminal History Check: All applicants must be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.

Compensation:    

  • Certified Substitute Teachers: $90 per day - $130 Long Term pay  

  • Substitute Teachers Bachelor's Degree: $85 per day - $110 Long Term pay          

  • Substitute Teachers 30 plus college hours: $75 per day - $80 Long Term Pay       

  • Paraprofessional Substitutes Clerical: $65 per day - $75 Long Term pay   

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: $75 per day - $80 Long Term pay      

  • Special Ed Classroom Aide: $75 per day - $80 Long Term pay

  • Registered Nurses: $90 per day - $130 Long Term pay
