The Exiting Employee Information has been assembled for those who are concluding employment with the school district. The exit information provides exiting employees with information regarding resignation procedures, final pay, benefits, and other important information.
Submit your Letter of Resignation
An employee who desires to voluntarily resign from the District should submit a notice to his or her supervisor generally two weeks in advance of the intended resignation date. You should indicate whether you are retiring through TRS. The following should be included on your Letter of Resignation: Your last day of work and your signature.
Return District Property
The following items must be returned to your Supervisor before your departure from the school district.
- Parking Permit, Identification Badge
- Cellular Phone/Pager/Blackberry
- All Keys
- Computers and Electrical Equipment
- Equipment Provided for Home or Travel Use
- Files, Folders, Manuals and/or Records
- Any Other School Property
- Repay Any Outstanding Money

Elect Cobra Continuation Coverage
If you need to extend your benefits coverage, you have sixty (60) days after your benefits expire to elect Cobra Continuation Coverage. You will receive two notices in the mail from the District’s Cobra Administrators.

Keep your Address on File Current
Please update your demographic data through The Employee Access Center. The Employee Access Center will provide you with the following important information:
Exiting employees are reminded of the obligations under the Educators’ Code of Ethics located in Policy DH(exhibit).
- Employee Access Center
- Paychecks – View and print current or historical checks as needed
- W-2, Wage and Tax Statements – View and print current or historical statements as needed
- Demographic Data – Update your address, phone number or contact information online
Under the Code of Ethics individuals, even after termination of employment, are required to maintain confidentiality of student information. Former employees also have an obligation to refrain from using or disclosing any such information other than for the benefit of the students.
