Message from the Superintendent: COVID-19 Update
Posted on 08/27/2021
Message from the SuperintendentDear Parents and Staff:
The Clear Creek Independent School District is monitoring the number of COVID-19 cases as well as absences due to illness and self-reported quarantine. In accordance with the 2021-2022 CCISD Health Mitigation Protocol, the district moved to Stage 3 due to a community outbreak of COVID-19 and the number of active cases districtwide is above 1% of the student/staff population. The third indicator regarding attendance remains within the historical range.

Here are the additional measures we have put in place.

• Increased pandemic cleaning across Clear Creek ISD which will provide enhanced cleaning in schools with positive COVID-19 cases.
• Air filters have been upgraded systemwide to capture smaller respiratory droplets.
• Air conditioning run times have been extended to provide additional air exchanges throughout the day.
• Reopened the form for parents to indicate whether their child is required to wear a face covering as this will allow campus staff to monitor the use of face coverings.
• Face coverings will be more visibly available in classrooms and common areas for student use.
• Elementary classrooms will move to temporary school-to-home (remote learning) if a cluster of cases is identified.
• All schools have been notified to reassess instructional settings, classroom seating arrangements, recess patterns, and cafeteria spaces to provide as much distance as possible.
• As practicable, meetings and some school-based events may be held virtually, outdoors, or temporarily postponed.

On August 19, 2021, The Texas Education Agency issued public health guidance for school districts. The Texas Education Agency states that school systems may only exclude students from a school setting if they have tested positive for the virus or exhibiting symptoms of illness. In accordance with TEA directives, if a student is determined to be a close contact and is not exhibiting signs of illness, it is up to the parent/guardian to determine whether to keep their student home. We encourage families to consider the Centers for Disease Control guidelines for close contacts, especially if the person with COVID-19 is someone within the home and the student has not been fully vaccinated.

As a reminder, parents should be conducting a Self-Health Assessment on students prior to school each day. To make the reporting process easy for families, please log into Skyward Family Access ( and complete the self-screener on the homepage. If you answer yes to any symptoms, keep your child at home. The completed self-screener form will be sent directly to the school nurse for follow up. The absence will be excused.

Clear Creek ISD will launch remote teleconferencing as early as September 7, 2021 to support the continuation of learning for students who are home temporarily due to a medical condition, COVID-19, or quarantine. Remote teleconferencing will be available for core subjects in all grade levels based on an hourly program schedule. More details will be released Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 12 p.m. through a livestream on and updated on

Additionally, the deadline to apply for a full-time Virtual Learning Program is 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021. The CCISD Virtual Learning Program is open to students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 as this is the age group that is not yet eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. Visit for application and details.

Clear Creek ISD will remain open for learning.

We are asking students and staff to wear face coverings indoors, stay home if they are ill, and wash their hands frequently.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Eric Williams, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
