Child Find - How to Refer a Child for Special Services

All children with disabilities residing in the State, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, and who are in need of special education and related services, must be identified, located, and evaluated.

Child Find is the process of identifying, locating and evaluating individuals, birth through 21, with disabilities who may experience developmental and/or educational difficulties.

CCISD Early Childhood Intake Center (ECIC)


The Early Childhood Intake Center (ECIC) evaluates children between the ages of 2 and 5, who are not in a district Pre-K program and are not yet kindergarten age, to determine if a child has a special education disability and if there is a need for special education services.

Early Childhood Special Education

CCISD Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) meets the needs of students who are identified as needing special education services. The ECSE provides services to children beginning on their third birthday.
