The Clear Creek Independent School District’s Visual and Performing Arts Department is pleased to announce the formation of the Choral Masterworks Series. Students and staff at various CCISD schools will collaborate and present a very special evening. The inaugural performance of the Choral Masterworks Concert will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
“We are very excited to offer this learning opportunity to our choir and orchestra students,” explained CCISD Director of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Muths. “They will work with one of the top directors in the country and experience the performance abilities of our very own CCISD choir teachers.”
The top choir students from Clear Brook, Clear Creek, Clear Falls, Clear Lake and Clear Springs high schools
will join forces with the Clear Lake High School Orchestra to perform Schubert’s Mass in G. Conducted by Milton Pullen, it promises to be a concert that hits all the right notes. Milt Pullen was born and reared in Texas, earning his music degrees in music education and conducting from Texas A&M University, Kingsville and from the University of Houston School of Music where he was mentored by the highly acclaimed artistic director of choirs, Ray Moore. Before joining the faculty at Pepperdine University, Malibu in 1995, Pullen directed award-winning high school programs in Texas for 24 years, teaching for the majority of the time in the Clear Creek Independent School District. Pullen’s choirs have performed for the Texas Music Educators Association, the California Music Educators Association and the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association. In the summer of 2010 he was presented with the Texas Choirmaster Award, the highest honor conferred by the Texas Choral Directors Association.
