Clear Creek ISD Bond Construction Update
October 2014

League City, Texas – Another large project funded by the May 2013 Bond is underway in the Clear Creek Independent School District. On Monday, October 20, 2014, during the regular board meeting, CCISD Trustees unanimously approved the design development plan for the Clear Creek High School project.  The planning and design work has been underway since May 2014.  Design work will continue through March 2015, construction will begin in April 2015 with completion scheduled for December 2016.

The design plans for Clear Creek High School include a rebuild of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) wing, including space for a new Dentistry program. The project also encompasses a third practice gym, the demolition and rebuild of the Athletics and Fine Arts areas, renovation of Carlisle Gym and its support spaces (locker rooms, offices, etc.), renovation of the Natatorium, a fly loft in the auditorium, renovation of the kitchen (including foundation repair) and numerous priority repairs and replacements.

Due to a delay in the permitting process, the Clear Lake High School rebuild is behind schedule. Final permits are expected soon. Work crews have been focusing on temporary facilities and parking lots which are near completion.  The McWhirter Elementary rebuild project is well underway. Phase I demolition is now complete and the installation of the building pad is in progress. Crews have also provided the proper protection for trees that will be saved or have relocated the trees to another area of the McWhirter campus.

Construction crews continue to erect steel for the field house as work continues on the Challenger Columbia Stadium. The main loop round around the complex is almost complete and the project is on schedule with an opening date of August 2015.

The West Agriculture Center expansion should be finished by mid-November. New pens were completed in September and students are already using the new space. The new show arena should be ready for use next month.
