Recognitions (VIEW PHOTOS)

Clear Creek Intermediate Two-Way Immersion students led the pledge.
 
Clear Falls High School Volleyball Team advanced to the Class 6A State Finals. Coach Lindsay Hodges has been named Galveston County Coach of the Year; Alyssa Enneking was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas and County Player of the Year; and Madelyn St. Germain was named 2014 County Defensive Player of the Year.

CCISD Holiday Card Art Winners were showcased. The student art was placed on holiday cards and mailed to more than 800 people. You may view all the cards at this page.

Stephen Louis, a Clear Springs High School senior, received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award for his leadership and service to the community.

The Texas PTA presented a ceremonial check to the school district as part of its Texas PTA Clean School Bus Program. The $100,000 grant will be used to purchase clean-air school buses.

CCISD received the highest rating from the Texas Comptroller under the Financial Allocation Study of Texas as well as the 2014 Platinum Leadership Circle Award. The awards recognize financial transparency as well as measures academic success against the money it spends on each student’s education. Of the more than 1,000 school districts, 46 received the highest possible rating and CCISD was one of them.
 
The Clear Creek Intermediate Two-Way Immersion program was the focus of the program spotlight. The program at the intermediate level is a continuum of elementary Two-Way Immersion where coursework is presented in two languages (English and Spanish) for both native and non-native English speakers. Board Items of Interest

  • The 2015 Academic Calendar was approved. Click here to view it.
  • Lesa Gaffey was named principal of Greene Elementary. She was most recently the assistant principal at Bauerschlag Elementary School.
  • Jason Piazza was named director of network services.
  • New secondary courses were approved: Spanish for Spanish Speakers II and IV and Robotics at Clear Brook High School.
  • $375,000 was issued to Generocity Services, Inc for security fencing at elementary campuses.
