CPR Training Kits Donated to Clear Creek ISD

League City, Texas – Clear Creek Independent School District was fortunate to receive 15 CPR Hands Only training kits. Due to a new law, CPR/AED techniques are now being used that do not require mouth to mouth resuscitation.

These techniques can be taught in about 30 minutes, making training safe and efficient. CCISD can now easily provide this training to staff and students thanks to the American Heart Association and generous donor Mike Bowman of Hunt & Hunt Ltd. Three of Bowman’s children graduated from CCISD.

Clear Creek ISD is the first District in Texas to receive such a large donation of the Hands Only CPR training kits. “We now has the proper equipment to teach students the Hands Only course and to teach them this important skill,” said Debbie Fuchs, Assistant Athletic Director for CCISD. “Once trained, our students could save a life.”

The kits contain curriculum, mannequins, and training videos. The District held a training session in mid-January with the help of the American Heart Association for all secondary P.E. teachers and high school athletic trainers in CCISD. Prior to this new law, CPR was taught only in health education classes.
