More Clear Creek ISD Bond 2013 Construction Projects to be Awarded Soon

As several repair and maintenance projects are winding down at several Clear Creek ISD elementary campuses, construction contracts were approved during the February 23, 2015 Board of Trustees meeting for repair projects at Armand Bayou Elementary, Clear Lake City Elementary, Whitcomb Elementary and Clear Lake Intermediate School.  Three more project contracts are expected to be awarded in the next two months including the Clear Creek High School rebuild completion, repair work at Clear Creek Intermediate School and the construction of the East Agriculture Center.

The $28,785,000 rebuild project at Clear Creek High School includes the demolition and rebuild of the Career Technology Education (CTE) wing and portions of the Fine Arts and athletics areas. The design includes a dental lab for a new program in the CTE wing, an expansion of the stage and a major remodel of the choir area. Crews will construct a new third practice gym, renovate the Carlisle Gym, locker area, and offices, as well as the Natatorium.  The Construction Documents should be completed by March with the Guaranteed Maximum Price expected to be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval at the board meeting March 23, 2015.  Construction will begin in late April 2015 and is scheduled to be complete by December 2016.

The Clear Creek Intermediate Project is currently in design. Proposals from general contractors are expected in March. A contract should be ready for Board of Trustee approval at the March 23, 2015 meeting.  Major repair and maintenance work planned for Clear Creek Intermediate School includes replacing major components of the AC/heating system, replacing water pipes, major components of the fire alarm and the sound system in all gyms. Improvements are also slated for restrooms and athletic facilities.

Design work on the East Agriculture Center is almost completed. Proposals from general contractors are expected next month and should be presented to the Board for approval at their March meeting.  The new Ag barn is needed to accommodate increased enrollment in the District's agricultural education programs. The barn will be located off Columbia Memorial Parkway at Delasandri Lane in League City and will service students from Clear Falls and Clear Creek High Schools. The East Agriculture Center is estimated to cost $3.55 million. Construction of the new center is expected to be complete by August 31, 2015.
