Michelle Nowell, Coordinator of Business Services and Ed Hall,
Assistant Director of Maintenance, were recognized for acceptance into
the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) Emerging
Leaders Program inaugural class. The Emerging Leaders Program provides
school districts the opportunity to enrich the leadership experience for
finance and operations employees.
Galveston County National Narcotic Detection Dog, was recognized for his
years of service and officially retired. The CCISD Student Personnel
Services Department presented to the Board Aldo’s new role for the
district as a Certified Therapy Dog.

The Board approved the recommendation for Assistant Director of Transportation, Aaron Robbins.

The 2015-2016 Program Evaluation Plan was adopted as
proposed: Leveled Literacy, Nov. 2015; Do the Math, Feb. 2016;
Athletics, March 2016; JROTC, May 2016 and Program Evaluation Update
The Board approved a recommendation to schedule a
public hearing to discuss the 2015-16 budget and proposed tax rate. The
hearing will be set for August 31, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The proposed rate
is $1.04 (M&O) and .36 (I&S).
The Board approved the 2015-16 District Compensation Plan.
The Board voted in favor of removing intermediate schools from the national school lunch and school breakfast program.

the TASB Board of Directors: Ron Cryer – Spring ISD, 4A; Benny May –
Barbers Hill, 4C
Extracurricular fees will be discontinued effective for the 2015-2016 school year.
All other items on the agenda were approved.
